Thanks for visiting Ansted's website. Welcome.
Today, Ansted University
has been collaborating worldwide with many
institutions in multiple field of expertise
and many other reputable organizations internationally
. It is important to go through our university's
entire website information thoroughly in
order to help you to know us better and
try to avoid half understanding as it may
not help you much.
A group of Ansted University
faculty members and I have done some research
on education and its delivery as well as
being actively involved in various distance
learning system forums or virtual conferences
organized by Commonwealth of Learning (COL),
International Institute for Educational
Planning (IIEP, UNESCO), International Council
for Open and Distance Education (ICDE),
FOSS, etc. All these activities involvement
will enhance our faculty member knowledge
in developing quality distance learning
programmes materials.
Ansted University (AU)
has helped thousand of its graduates worldwide
to reaching a successful life and career.
“If a man empties his purse into his head
no one can take it away from him. An investment
in education always pays the best interest.
The aim of education should be to teach
us HOW to think, rather than WHAT to think.
There are two kinds of knowledge: either
we know something or we know how to find
the information,” said Benjamin Franklin.
All universities and institutions
in the world, including onshore and offshore
registered universities, both funded by
government and private funded institutions
must have an enormous responsibility
to society; same thing goes to all kind
of corporations both commercial and non-profit
organizations around the world.
Business leaders and educators
must help to solve the social problems of
the day. Every dimension of the institution
and business behaviour is changing so rapidly
that it is become one big blur. University-and
corporate-based programme can co-exist,
but it's going to take a lot of co-operation
and partnering. It's an increasingly competitive
environment out there and schools as well
as training institutions need to keep continuously
in tune with the needs of modern society.
Although a company has
been endorsed 5As rated organization status,
they also had to start from very basic and
went through painful experiences, numerous
times, invested hard earned money to build
their company. The success of any organization
starts with a vision and mission. Initially
nobody can tell how far does a new company
or a new institution can go especially in
the public eyes unless he himself or she
herself has been involved in the organization
and playing an active role then only can
he sees it. It is almost impossible for
any organization or institution to become
famous overnight without a strong, dedicated
and supportive team to put their efforts
to achieve the remarkable results for the
organization they belong to. Of course there
are many obstacles for them to have gone
through during the process of developing
and establishing a company. It is does not
matter where the company had been established
but more importantly is the people inside
that organization striving to make the organization
or institution the Role Model company for
others to follow.
Therefore, I always remind
all Ansted University affiliated training
providers and affiliated campuses around
the world that we should not forget the
university vision and mission.
To survive in today's highly-competitive
global marketplace of learning products
and/or training services, educational and
training institutions will have to (i) improve
their quality (ii) offer nice but needed
products and/or services, and (iii) reach
new, untapped market segments. As education
is now a big business, to ensure their programmes'
sustainability and financial viability,
educational institutions (including in-service,
non-degree training institutions) must be
demand-driven, market-sensitive and customer
service oriented.
To maintain the competitive
edge, Ansted will continuously need to (i)
improve, revise their learner-centred curricula
to meet the rapidly changing market needs,
(ii) use more innovative and interactive
learning technologies and (iii) apply peer-based/participatory
learning methods, that can increase cost-effectiveness
of the training process. In addition to
improving such training quality, Ansted
must also manage more strategically the
available physical, financial and human
capital resources, as well as professionally
and creatively market our academic programmes
and services to ensure their financial health.
In the competitive global
training market of the 21 st century, it
is not enough for institutions to only provide
high quality instruction or technical content
delivery. Poorly managed institutions, which
do not properly market their academic programmes
and provide quality and personalized customer
services before, during and after students
attending their course, are unlikely to
survive. Only by providing satisfactory
services to our students with a memorable
“total” learning experience which exceeds
their expectations, can we expect such satisfied
customers to become our “repeat” students/clients.
The Distance Learning System
rejects painful memorization techniques.
It teaches students to think critically
and to increase their intellectual capacity.
This innovative method makes studying easy,
emphasizes quality against quantity, and
is time-effective, entertaining, and productive.
In addition, it draws from real-life experiences
and content-specific material that avoids
useless details. By concentrating on a specific
discipline, students can attain full command
of the chosen field of knowledge and confidence
in applying their acquired skills. Through
the Distance Learning System students acquire
a real grasp of the various disciplines.
The Distance Learning System
is based on a process of exchange of information
capable of increasing the amount of useful
data stored in our “operating system” and
of generating new reference schemata within
it. These thinking structures not only help
us to store useful information, but they
also increase our reasoning and problem-solving
skills. This intellectual improvement is
permanent and ever expanding.
The active research activities
in our distance learning department cover
a wide variety of areas within commerce
and business administration, Economics,
Accounting, Banking & Finance, Finance,
Entrepreneurship, Industrial Relations,
Management, Communication Management, Human
Resource Management, Supply Chain Management,
International Business, Human Resource Management,
Marketing, Management Information System,
Policy Analysis, Health Care Management,
Hotel Management and Tourism, Strategic
Management, Supply chain management, Management
Science, Transportation and Logistics, Technology
Management, Real Estate and Urban
Development, Project Management, Public
Administration. Research is central to any
course of graduate study, and AU encourages
students to explore the research opportunities
available at AU.
The Ansted University Learning
System combined with a sound bibliographical
selection is able to achieve this goal.
“Life should not be just working and studying.
Enjoy your free time…. Do not feel that
studying is taking up your free time. Keep
motivation alive… These are some keys to
turn learning into a pleasant and enriching
experience.”
Ansted University is pleased
to introduce a new way of learning called
“ Lifelong Learning ” through
learning centre Hubs delivering through
partnerships.
The objective is to reach
larger audiences of individuals, organizations,
and employers. Our partners will include
many groups, all kind of organizations and
every level of individuals such as:
- Education and vocational
as well as non vocational provider
- Employers and employees
- Business representative companies
- Trade unions
- Voluntary and community organizations;
in addition we'll build positive relationships
with government and accreditation agencies.
Through market research
recently done by the Ansted University Research
and Development Department we asked individuals
and businesses what they thought Ansted
University should do, and this is what they
said:
- Give us opportunities to
develop skills we need for work
- Give us control of our learning
with flexible timing, delivery and style
- Give us personal support
and help when we need it
- Put us in touch with other
learners
- Make learning an affordable
and enjoyable part of everyday life
After a thorough consideration,
Ansted University decided to :
- help build a learning society
in which people and businesses are able
to take control of their own destinies
and build their future.
- Encourage lifelong learning
to raise business competitiveness
- Help adults to improve their
knowledge and skills, from basic literacy
to advanced management techniques
- Help promote and support
the habit of effective and purposeful
lifelong learning for all adults
The university intends
to do this by:
- Creating an international
distributed open and distance learning
network for Ansted
University
students which is
capable of meeting a wide variety of
learning needs
- Providing a wide range of
high-quality learning packages which
gives maximum flexibility for users,
allowing them to learn where, when and
how they want
- Encouraging people to “own”
their learning by making it relevant
to their working lives and personal
aspirations
- Building learners' confidence
in their ability to manage their own
learning through access to specialist
support and interaction with other learners
Ansted University puts
learners first. We're guided by these learning
Principles:
- To put students in touch
with other people studying the same
topics
- To give easy access to the
specialist support students need
- To offer learning materials
that are relevant to the students' own
work interests and that actively involve
them in practical examples and exercises
- To give clear information
that helps the students make the best
personal choices about learning programmes
and maintain control of them
- To give them the chance to
relate their learning to their own longer
term ambitions
To ensure that individuals
and employers find Ansted Programmes and
activities relevant and effective, we‘ll
maintain a continuing programme of research
and analysis.

I fully agree
with these two useful quotes:
"There
are millions of people
... who contribute in important ways
to the communities in which they live, even
though they do not have a college degree.
Through native intelligence, hard work and
sacrifice, many have gained in knowledge
and understanding. And yet, the social and
economic advancement of these people has
been thwarted.. If attendance at a college
is the only road to ... credentials,
those who cannot or have not availed themselves
of this route, but have acquired knowledge
and skills through other sources, will be
denied the recognition and advancement to
which they are entitled. Such inequity should
not be tolerated."
By Ewald B. Nyquist, President
of University of the State of New York ,
1973
"...assessment
which is only available to those enrolled
on a course severely restricts the variety
of methods of learning which may be used.
We must therefore seek to separate assessment
from courses or programmes of learning.
If we can do this, it will mean that any
means of learning - by course, employment,
open or distance-leaning, private study
etc - can be used to gain the competence
needed for an award. It would greatly increase
flexibility if assessment could also be
offered to all who are ready for it; in
other words, we should seek to provide assessment
on demand."
