Distance and research education
degree programme is an extremely popular
learning format that is experiencing enormous
growth worldwide. Due to technological advancements,
the door to lifelong learning has been opened
for many people who otherwise would not
be able to receive or continue their education.
The Ansted University, Distance Education
and Research Degree Programme meet the needs
of non-traditional students who are limited
by the obstacles of time, career and family
obligations, and geography.
Through a variety of cutting
edge technologies, the same high standard
of education that is imparted on the Ansted
University affiliated campuses situated
in many countries are available to students
worldwide. Distance learning students enjoy
the benefits of learning from instructors
who can reach out beyond the campus to help
them succeed.
Ansted University has been
international for over twenty-five years
and has been very successful at attracting
the best and the brightest students all
over the world. We know you will keep our
standard at the zenith of international
education.
I am very pleased and honored
to serve as Scientific Board President for
Ansted University. Also I am a proud Ansted
graduate, who received an honorary doctorate
from the University in 2001. In addition,
I am grateful to Professor Dr. Roger Haw
(Co-Founder of Ansted University) for these
prestigious recognitions and thank him profusely
for his dedication, excellent leadership,
and outstanding work for the University.
Ansted is unique in that
it unites the people of many Countries into
one large family. At the same time, it provides
numerous opportunities and encourages social,
economic, and educational development at
all levels. As Scientific Board President,
I am especially concerned with the improvement
and promotion of the University’s
Science, Engineering, and Research Programs.
In my position at the University,
I always do my best to bring honor and prestige
to Ansted by pursuing excellence in my research
and science education activities. Highlights
of my major accomplishments are provided.
I organized and led three World First Space
Missions. My World First MarsLink Mission
(which included Ansted University participants
and excellent assistance from Dr. Roger
Haw), received a national award from the
American Chemical Society in 2004. My Chemical
Sensation Program (a multi-sensory teaching
approach at the international level) received
the national ChemLuminary award in 2004
from the American Chemical Society. Also
my International Program in Creative Education
(which includes three major book publications
and an audio book all co-authored by me),
has been nominated (2007) for a national
award. In addition, I have numerous honors
and over 100 professional publications including
books, CDs, television show scripts, and
journal features.
To conclude, I am very
grateful and express my sincere thanks to
the entire Ansted Family for their support
and contributions. Also I encourage them
to continue their dedicated and great work
for the University. As always, I wish everyone
success, good health, happiness, and PEACE.”

Message
from Mr. Esmond Vincent Byrne, the Pro-tem
President of Ansted Alumni club
Dear friend and prospective student,
I am so happy that you
have taken the first step to visit and learn
more about Ansted University toward completing
your choice of degree programme. I still
remember the day I first contacted Ansted
University for information. I knew I wanted
a university degree but was not sure how
to proceed. Commuting to a campus-based
university on a daily basis just wasn’t
feasible. At the same time, I was confident
that there were certain subjects in which
I already knew as much as the lecturers.
Many of the universities I contacted clearly
did not meet my need.
When I heard about Ansted University’s
programme for adult learners through Prof.
Dr Roger Haw, I was thrilled. Perhaps this
was a university that understood what it
meant to be an adult learner in today’s
busy world! When I contacted the university,
I was not disappointed. Ansted University’s
helpful staff and informative publications
answered all of my questions and showed
me how to demonstrate the university-level
knowledge I already had and how to acquire
new knowledge through distance learning.
I was able to fit my education into my busy
life, which included a career, family and
social life.
Today, thanks to Ansted University and Prof.
Dr. Roger Haw, my lifelong dream has been
fulfilled. Now I am working at the British
Council as an Examination Services Manager.
Doors that were closed to me because of
my lack of university degree qualification
are now open. My career choices have increased
because I consolidated my lifelong knowledge
and earned a bachelor’s degree. In
addition, I have the privilege of serving
as Ansted University Alumni Club which means
associating with some of the brightest,
most interesting people from more than 80
countries.
I hope you will persevere in your quest
for a university degree from this fine institution.
Like no other university and college, Ansted
University is the place to make your dreams
come true. Don’t put it off another
moment: complete an application today and
find out how close you really are to receiving
a degree highly valued by employers. Every
graduate I’ve spoken with shares my
sense of pride and accomplishment: there
is no limit to what you can achieve with
your Ansted University degree !
The working environment
is becoming more and more competitive and
the need exists for ongoing education and
confirmation of individual skills and ability.
I would like to express my gratitude for
giving me the opportunity to study in the
Ansted University.
I would definitely make
use of the education I have gained for the
benefit of community, i.e. assist others
with whatsoever I have learned from the
university, help contribute towards the
building up of Ansted University and its
mission of education and service towards
the world. I also wish to assist in whatever
way I can in developing mankind’s
knowledge, Technology and wisdom towards
a better future for the world.
Ansted University degree
programmes system is very helpful to all
adult learners in the world. It is practical
and gives you a sense of worth and accomplishment
in the area of education. The award of this
degree has provided me the recognition of
my study and contribution to the industry
for 15 years. I have also received a great
encouragement through this achievement.
My heart-felt thanks go to the highly respected
founding member Prof. Dr Roger Haw, the
distinguished Advisory Council member Prof.
Dr. Patrick Ng and all the academic faculty
members for all the support, dedication
and encouragement. I am confident in Ansted
University and readily recommend Ansted
University to all who will be interested
in pursuing higher education.
On behalf of Ansted alumni from around the
world, I welcome you to Ansted University.
Yours truly,
Esmond Vincent Byrne, President
of Ansted University Alumni
Research
done by Ansted students
Ansted is deeply committed
to the creative search for new understanding
of nature and human society as an essential
element of the learning process. The scholarly
inquiry and research of Ansted faculty and
students add value to instruction on our
campuses, and contribute to the distinction
of our university.
There are a few attributes
which make our Doctorate degree distinctive.
Dynamic Intellectual Environment
– Ansted University has attained a
reputation for being leaders in providing
diverse, high quality education and research.
Faculty research and the doctoral programmes
form the core of intellectual activity in
the University. Working collegially, faculty
and doctoral students expand the boundaries
of human knowledge, test the real world
application of business theories and seek
to enhance the educational value of their
instructional efforts. All in all, this
scholarly exchange and knowledge generation
creates an exciting and stimulating intellectual
atmosphere within which to learn.
Programme Flexibility
- Our Doctorate Degree Programme provides
a broad, yet focused, opportunity whereby
doctoral students can acquire the values,
skills and competencies essential to a career
of scholarly research and teaching. Student
programmes are individually planned and
there is considerable flexibility in tailoring
course work, independent studies and experiential
learning to student backgrounds and interests.
Faculty Availability
and Commitment - Many of our faculties
have attained national and even international
recognition for their research contributions.
We keep the size of our doctoral programme
small to insure that students have the opportunity
to work one-on-one with these scholars.
Strong departmental affiliations allow students
to interact with faculty and other graduate
students in their area of specialization
and add further depth to their knowledge
of the business field. A required qualifying
research paper and the development of an
approved dissertation topic provide two
other opportunities for quality faculty
interactions.
Commendable messages from students
Below are the fellow
Ansted University alumni members’
messages
Prof. Dr Roger Haw took
a 3-year period to encourage Ms. WC Yap
to pursue her BBA study and finally Ms Yap
had completed her first degree. Ms Yap is
a company secretary with one of the most
established logistic and transportation
organization in Malaysia. She has been working
with this company since 1980. She started
as a Forwarding Clerk and was promoted as
a Shipping Coordinator in 1985. In 1988,
again she was promoted as a Secretary to
assist the Managing Director of the said
company. After many encouragement messages
given by her working colleagues and boss,
she decided to enrol with Ansted University.
She had fulfilled most of the Bachelor degree
requirements by means of her prior learning
through her professional institute membership
and her years of working as a Professional
Secretary. Today, she has gained the full
credit awards for what she has accomplished,
thereby greatly shortening the time to earn
her desired degree—Bachelor of Business
Administration. Her company is proud of
her greatest achievements as well as her
family members: to get a bright future and
prove to her employer that she has reached
this level of achievement and also as a
mentor to her children. We know that she
puts in every effort to achieve this result
and she deserves to enjoy the fruit of her
labour.
Dr. KG Goh
In the olden days, most people claimed that
experience and hardworking will bring you
job promotion. But in this 21st century
it isn’t valid any more. In order
to secure a better future, people must be
equipped with paper qualification to prove
that he/she is capable to perform the job
and climb the corporate ladder.
I was graduated with a United Kingdom masters
degree 8 years ago. All the while I was
thinking of doing a Ph.D. program. But there
were always constraints like family responsibilities,
office works and finance. These created
pressures for me to balance up. Looking
back at the past 8 years, there was minimum
growth. I must do something!!! One day,
I met Prof. Roger Haw. He introduced me
to Ansted University. After a thorough consideration
and with confidence, I decided to pursue
the Ph.D. degree.
First, I acknowledge receipt of my BBA degree
in good order. Secondly, I would like to
thank Prof. Dr Roger Haw for his valuable
advice. I have no doubt in my mind that
this degree will be a springboard for my
future career. It has already made a big
positive difference in my work and boosted
my self-confidence. I want to extend my
thanks to all who helped me make my dream
a reality. I want to mention that the outline
of my particular programme was well planned
out, and the text, is informative. I will
also pass along any information I can to
friends and colleagues who wish to pursue
a degree in any programme that Ansted University
offers. I am proud to be part of an organization
whose mission is to give hope and unique
quality education around the globe.
Mr. Che Ani
is an experienced individual in the environmental
field in Malaysia. His friend recommended
him to meet Prof. Dr Roger Haw for his advice
about the enrolment with Ansted University
to pursue a bachelors degree programme.
Mr. Che Ani has done and completed many
projects for government and private sector
projects. He has been working with the Department
of Environment, Malaysia for 17 years and
attended numerous courses in the environmental
field. He has a burning desire to further
his study. However, work commitment has
prevented him from doing so before. He came
to know about Ansted University programme
from his good friend Dr Zabidi’s-our
distinguished Board of Advisory Council
member. His enrolment was also highly supported
by a few other professors in Malaysia. Among
them are Assoc. Prof. Dr Mohd Idris, Department
of Agriculture Technology, the Faculty of
Agriculture of University Putra Malaysia
and also Assoc. Prof Dr H.M.Safar, Department
of Communication of University Kebangsaan
Malaysia. He has informed the academic advisor
of Ansted University that he wanted to upgrade
his academic qualification and also to fulfil
his ambition to be a qualified engineer.
This is because his career in the environmental
field needs him to be a professional engineer.
He has managed to meet all the requirements
of the Ansted University School of Engineering.
Also he has completed 58 supporting documents
including multiple environmental projects
and a thesis to the academic director for
further evaluation. The Educational Board
of Governors of Ansted University on the
recommendation of the Faculty of Engineering
and by virtue of the authority in them vested
has conferred upon him the Bachelor of Environmental
Engineering.
Mr. Garry Oh
"For a busy executive like me, Ansted
University programme is indeed very practical
and flexible. I would say that the faculty
of Ansted University is definitely a successful
team of devoted professionals who are educators
of vision… particularly I would like
to thank Prof. Dr Roger Haw for his guidance
on my study. Thank for everything. I am
really glad to have the Bachelor of Business
Administration degree from Ansted University.
It will usher new horizons in my life. I
am fully confident that my achievement in
obtaining my first degree will prove to
be another important milestone into an even
more successful, rewarding future for me.
I was extremely pleased to be recognized
for the work that I have contributed in
my working life. Ansted University has helped
me to realize my desired dreams. I now have
a degree to match my experience. The degree
will help me to confirm and prove my professionalism
in banking career, and especially from Ansted
University …that is outstanding amongst
distance learning universities, so to match
with international standards of higher education”.
Dr. V. S. Ratnam
Before I enrolled in the Ansted University
Programmes, I always regretted my failure
to pursue a higher degree of education.
Most of my adult life, I concentrated on
supporting my family, doing my job and certain
civic commitments. I always feared enrolling
at the local Universities because I was
working long days. I knew I would be dropped
from the University if I were forced to
miss too many classes. This discouraged
me and I decided not to become involved.
I gained a degree of higher learning and
expanded my knowledge through on-the-job
training, seminars and personal experiences.
When I was made aware of Ansted University
programme through Prof. Dr Roger Haw, I
decided to seek out the information and
enrol at Ansted University. Ansted programme
allowed me the flexibility to study and
work at my own pace. With this opportunity,
I was able to accept the challenges of the
programme without fear of being dropped
for poor attendance. I gained a rejuvenated
interest in furthering my education and
I continue to meet new challenges with enthusiasm.
Your programme certainly proved to be of
value to me.
Since I enrolled at Ansted University, I
monitor and better programme my time. During
the period I worked on my Doctorate and
since graduation, I have taken additional
courses or seminars through Ansted University
external campus. This total experience has
offered me an opportunity to enjoy the non-traditional
as well as the traditional approach to a
university education.
When I completed my dissertation, it was
reviewed and approved by the two members
from the faculty and one observer. Their
comments on the subject matter and the value
of the information contained were very positive
and encouraging to me. With this in mind,
I was prepared for a new challenge –
“writing a book”. Thus, I rewrote
the subject matter and enhanced it on the
information contained in my dissertation.
I am pleased to be able to tell you again
how much I appreciated my experience in
obtaining the Ph.D. degree in Management
at Ansted University. Your institution enabled
me to complete the final requirements for
the degree in a responsible fashion without
disrupting my professional and personal
life. As an adult, I can motivate myself
to work the needed amount of time to complete
a degree. That kind of motivation was necessary,
too, because the quality of work demanded
by Ansted University is as high if not higher
than that at other “traditional”
universities.
"It is an Excellent
programme to meet the needs of people who
work long hours, those who work seven days
a week, and people who have a demanding
schedule of any kind.”
Mr. H.H. Yeap
"Indeed, it is a great privilege to
obtain a degree from Ansted University which
urged us and taught us to be independent
and creative. I found my degree programme
quite interesting and challenging, and of
substantial benefit to me in several ways.
In another word to get a bright future and
prove to my employer that I have reached
this level of achievement and also as a
mentor to my children. It has already made
a big positive difference in my work and
boosted my self-confidence.”
