Admission procedure

Our Evaluation Committee,
consisting of the Faculty Members, Dean
of the University, and the Director conducts
all applicant evaluations. All the applicant

is made regarding the amount of past academic
credits that are transferable, as well as
the number of experiential credits, if any,
that will be awarded.
"Ansted University
is for all conditions and classes of men
without regard to colour, nationality, sex,
political belief, race or religion persuasion.
We welcome diversity, new ideas, new faces;
we insist on freedom of expression and action,
as long as it does not endanger the public
welfare; and we hold that nothing exists
within the realm of human knowledge or experience
which cannot or should not be examined.
Further, we believe that the purpose of
an education is to open doors to the mind
and the spirit, to stimulate curiosity and
imagination, to develop the capacity in
our students to think for themselves. Last
but not least, we hold that with the gift
of learning comes the responsibility for
the human community, an obligation to use
knowledge and skills thoughtfully and in
the interests of all. This implies a sense
of caring. We look ahead with confidence
to another century of education and service.
But it will be impossible for anyone to
continue with us long without knowing what
we believe to be truth and our reasons for
that belief."
Together with the formal
courses and programs completed by the applicant,
the Ansted also considers life experience
and independent self-study programs.

Program
The student is him/herself
responsible for organizing his/her tuition
and acquiring the knowledge necessary. The
student has to complete and submit assignment’s
papers, which leads to the award of our
degrees. There are no further examinations.
This program is designed
to give each student an opportunity to excel
at whatever rate their individual drive,
desire, and performance will allow, while
balancing his/her educational experience
by giving the student the guidance he/she
will need to attain a true understanding
of the subject. Despite this program, the
Ansted maintains the highest standards of
academic excellence. The purpose of its
existence is to allow the student to earn
a degree on a much more flexible basis than
traditional colleges and universities, while
still offering an outstanding quality education.
The independence that the
students are given also brings with it a
great deal of responsibility. As a student,
much of the studying and learning is done
on independently, not in a classroom, lecture,
or study board. Credits are earned by the
student’s demonstration of knowledge,
not by how many hours he/she has logged
in a classroom. Students start when they
are ready, continue at their own individual
pace, and finish at their convenience.
A main text as well as
a list of references for each course is
indicated in the syllabus. Student may find
these materials in their local libraries,
local bookstores, online bookstores or textbook
publishes. If a student is motivated, he/she
will have no trouble achieving his/her educational
goals quickly. As long as the student maintains
the quality of his/her education, the time
frame for completion of the program is up
to him or her.
Who can benefit the
most?
By offering a wide variety
of off-campus courses, the Ansted accepts
self-directed student with the means to
satisfy various kinds of educational needs
that exist at different academic levels.
The student who benefit from such a program
may fall into one or more of the following
category:
- Individuals who wish to continue full-time
employment while earning her degree
- Individuals who have interrupted their
college education and find it difficult
to return to a traditional campus to complete
their degree requirements.
- Military personnel who are stationed
in remote areas.
- Military personnel who are not stationed
in one location long enough to attend
and complete traditional courses.
- Individuals already established in
careers who do not necessarily require
additional academic credentials, but need
to increase their knowledge to become
more effective and valuable.
- Individuals who need academic credentials
to earn promotions or increases in incoming.
- Professionals whose license renewal
depends on specified extended courses
of education.
- Employers who wish their employees
trained in specific areas without losing
the continuity of their service.
Work
Experience/Life Experience
Ansted recognizes that
many non-traditional students have acquired
university level learning through professional
work experience, training received in the
performance of the job, or a community service.
As such, Ansted students have the opportunity
to earn credit for what they already know.
Credit may be earned in all undergraduate
and graduate programs either by taking a
related comprehensive examination for each
course or by developing a portfolio for
each course for which the student is seeking
credit in lieu of regular coursework. A
portfolio is a detailed, written, self-assessment
of what the student has learned through
his/her experience.
Length
of the Award
The time involved in achieving
the student’s degree will vary from
individual to individual. The time frame
will depend upon the transfer credits the
student brings into the program, allowable
credits for life-experience, the number
of courses assigned to the student, and
the effort the student puts into the program.
Thesis/Program
Dissertation (Research Degrees)
This program requires a
complete and successful submission of a
research proposal and a thesis/dissertation,
or an action research project. There are
no further examinations.

Accreditation
The Ansted University is
authorized and endorsed by the governmental
authority in the country of incorporation
as well as by the local authority in different
countries. AU is also internally accredited
which means that the Board of Directors,
Board of Governors and Board of Academic
holds the responsibility of developing,
maintaining, and enforcing its own high
quality of standards for prior learning
and experiential evaluation-based degree
programs.
The Ansted University is
not accredited by any of the regional accrediting
organizations in the United States, United
Kingdom, Europe, Canada, Asia, Australia
and Africa. Accreditation is a voluntary
process and is not a requirement by the
department of education to grant degrees.
AU has not applied for any such accreditation
since it has no need to seek Government
Funding. As we know, many private and non-governmental
agencies have started accreditation activities,
and some of them do not even meet certain
standards. By whom Universities need to
be accredited and finally, who accredits
these accrediting agencies?
Despite all these, the
AU has made arrangement with many recognized
universities, institutions, and other community
colleges for reciprocal recognition in many
countries including USA, UK, Poland, France,
Ireland, Spain, Italy, Canada, Belgium,
Sweden, Switzerland, Asia, South-Asia, Latin
America, Africa, etc. The AU graduates can
transfer credits to those universities and
institutions which has established agreement.
AU graduates may also, continue their higher
studies in case these students want to join
other universities
Employment
Opportunities for AU Graduates
Though AU does not guarantee
any employment, yet we have compiled a list
of employers considering our graduates.
The AU Administration is continuously increasing
such recognition and acceptance from prestigious
companies from around the world.

Distance Learning Programmes
Distance and research education
degree programme is an extremely popular
learning format that is experiencing enormous
growth worldwide. Due to technological advancements,
the door to lifelong learning has been opened
for many people who otherwise would not
be able to receive or continue their education.
The Ansted University, Distance Education
and Research Degree Programme meet the needs
of non-traditional students who are limited
by the obstacles of time, career and family
obligations, and geography.
Through a variety of cutting
edge technologies, the same high standard
of education that is imparted on the Ansted
University affiliated campuses situated
in many countries are available to students
worldwide. Distance learning students enjoy
the benefits of learning from instructors
who can reach out beyond the campus to help
them succeed.
The Distance Learning Degree
Programme is a non-residential programme
designed specially for the busy executive
with much professional knowledge and experience
but limited time in which to pursue a desired
degree programme. Students are assigned
academic advisors or mentors who help in
developing degree plans. A diversified staff
and faculty holding advanced degrees from
major universities throughout the world
function as counsellors, mentors and readers
are available. We have been very successful
at attracting the best and the brightest
students all over the world(to find some
of the research works done by our students
and alumni-Download
pdf). We know our alumni will keep our
standard at the zenith of international
education.
c.
Research programmes
The
Research Degree Programme and How It Works
The Research Programmes
have been designed for those who, at the
time of acceptance and admission, are likely
to be awarded a significant number of credits
for prior work and educational experiences,
thus reducing the time and work needed to
obtain a degree.
Ansted University research degree programmes
consist of three main activities:
(1) Research and
Learning Plan; (2) Study; (3) Final Assessments.
These
activities are described on the following
pages.
However, the research programmes have been
designed for those people who, at the time
of acceptance and admission, are likely
to be awarded a significant number of credits
for prior work and educational experiences,
thus reducing the time and work needed to
obtain a degree. This means that the majority
of applicants tend to gain exemption (in
whole or in part) from the Research and
Learning Plan part of the programme.
The
assessment of prior learning is an integral
and important aspect of the programme.
When an individual makes application to
Ansted University we normally let them know
within one week of receiving the application
how many credits are needed to obtain a
degree, and of these credits how many already
been earned by virtue of prior experience.
We also provide information as to how many
additional credits need to be earned in
the programme.
Note :Ansted University
endorses this policy. Making formal application
for admission to an undergraduate or graduate/postgraduate
degree programme does not commit an applicant
to the programme.
Programme Activities
-
The Research
and Learning Plan (general course work)
The Ansted University Research and Learning
Plan is that part of our programme which
assesses and analyses your work/professional
and other training, prior academic achievement,
courses taken elsewhere (e.g. by correspondence,
in the military, company in-house training,
private institution, hobbies, etc) and
general experiential learning. This
assessment helps to determine how far
you have already achieved the knowledge,
skills and competencies which would
usually be gained from attending classes
and completing course work in a residential
type programme. We transfer and assign
credits and/or convert appropriate experience
and learning into credits and apply
them to our research and learning plan.
-
The Study (project,
dissertation, thesis)
The study is required of all students.
The objective of the study is for the
student to develop a particular topic,
which is of personal interest, research
it in various ways and brings it to
formal academic/professional presentation.
The Ansted University encourages candidates
to focus the study on a subject related
to their current employment or another
major activity in their lives, so that
the resultant work will be of benefit
not only to the student but also to
the employer, sponsor, and/or the community
at large. On the other hand, no one
will be prevented from focusing purely
on a topic of very special personal
interest, or on a more obscure or purely
academic topic.
For some students, the study will be
a traditional project, dissertation
or thesis. For others, the study may
take quite a different form:
•A business
executive might submit a plan for the
establishment or expansion of an actual
business.
•A teacher
might produce a study involving the
development and implementation of a
new curriculum.
•A psychologist
or other counsellor might submit a series
of annotated case histories from his
or her actual practice.
•An artist
might submit original work (e.g. slides
of paintings or sculpture); a film;
audio or videotapes of a performance,
etc.
Work of this kind,
would necessarily, still be accompanied
by some written material, describing
or annotating the study and placing
it in its proper academic context.
Ansted University actively encourages
multi-disciplinary topics and approaches
to academic work. Since most of our
programme supervisors are affiliated
with other major teaching establishments,
and/or with professional businesses,
and/or with public and private agencies,
we can draw upon a broad range of
expertise directly relevant to each
student's needs and interests. Innovatory
academic presentations, like their
more conventional counterparts, must
meet the professional/academic standards
required by the Ansted University's
faculty. Alternative methods of working
and presentation have their own forms
of assessment and we do try to utilize
as wide as range of acceptable assessment
and evaluation techniques as is possible
when judging submissions. Please also
note that it is open to students to
submit a collection of published articles
and/or books and/or other projects
already completed at the time of acceptance
into a programme, providing;
a) such material has not been used
to secure an award from some other
institution, that award having been
granted;
b) that materials so submitted are
judged by the University's assessors
to be of the standard required to
earn a degree. Students who submit
work which is completed or near completion
at the time of admission may be required
to make revisions etc., if the University's
faculty so request. Where a study
is to be based on work previously
done to obtain a qualification elsewhere,
it must clearly indicate the nature
of this work and how any new work
growing out of the original work has
been developed and incorporated into
the Ansted University study.
-
Final Assessments
At the end of the
programme you may be asked to respond
in writing to several short questions
on topics raised by you in your study
and of interest to the examiners.
The questions will seek to get your
own further views on the topics selected.
Objectives
of Research Degrees
The course will enable the graduate
to :
1. identify, interpret and evaluate
major themes of contemporary business
and administration theory and practice;
2. comprehend and evaluate developments
in a chosen area of management and
critically examine the relationships
between such changes and contemporary
theory;
3. demonstrate an extensive and
in-depth knowledge of significant
aspects of management at a level
that allows for a proposal, evaluation
and implementation of innovative
and appropriate solutions to complex
problems;
4. comprehend, analyse and evaluate
business-government relationships
and the impact of public policy
on business;
5. identify, critically assess and
apply selected research paradigms
in terms of their theoretical status
and their applicability for resolving
contemporary business problems;
6. undertake, interpret and evaluate
management research using acceptable
principles and techniques;
7. develop and support a proactive
approach to management decision-
making;
8. apply a knowledge of the principles
and ethics of research;
9. identify research topics and
undertake research using appropriate
methods;
10. be able to report and publish
research outcomes.
As we know, Executives
and professionals with substantial work
experience often acquire the core knowledge
in their professional areas without formal
academic training. These students will profit
by enrolling in the Ansted Accelerated or
Research Degree Programmes”. These
programmes bypass the traditional core courses
to concentrate on the new development and
trends in each subject matter.
Exams are old fashioned.
New problems are happening in the world
everyday. Nowadays books alone or old research
approaches hardly solve them. All these
need new set of knowledge to be used in
problem solving. Therefore, Ansted University
feels that this kind of innovative knowledge
or so called updated information should
be recognized and used in dealing with new
problems; the existing knowledge may just
provide some fundamental references only.
Now the need is for new mode of study to
obtain qualifications for the 21st century
adult student. Evidence of mastery of the
subject matter is presented through book
reports, completed research paper, etc.
Expressing your ideas effectively and articulately
in book reports will increase one’s
communication skills at work but more importantly
it is to produce results.
Through research papers
you will learn intellectual curiosity, creativity
and locate and examine resources related
to your subject matter. Through new developments,
trends and ideas students will learn what
areas of knowledge are needed and related
it to their profession. Coupled with improved
communication and research skills will be
assured of a successful career path through
their degree qualification to achieve their
desired goal.
 “With
reference to research at universities,
my viewpoint is that the term ‘university’
holds triple significance. First of
all a university needs administration
in order to function even before the
first lecture is held. Then there
is the primary element of education
in the task of sharpening cognitive
perception. Finally a university ought
to encourage high-level innovation
in meaningful academic contexts. In
all these zones of administration,
teaching and innovation exists much
scope for research. University management
fosters skills that can by correct
methodology be upgraded to ensure
better quality administration. University
staff members have continuously to
keep abreast of developments in their
disciplines, and integrate accretions
of knowledge in their teaching. There
are universities that uphold the sabbatical
tradition i.e., every seventh year
the professor reviews his past performance,
selects at least one topic for intensive
research and presents the results
of his findings in written or other
form in order to deepen insights in
specific areas. Success in purposeful
research depends to a large extent
on cultivating the skill of personal
time management, as a social and cultural
activity, not simply as an arid exercise
in functional efficiency.
If innovation is
endangered, that may stem from the
administration’s insufficient
funding of research. If professors
do not convey their message so as
to make exactly the right impact,
they may well be lacking in rhetorical
proficiency. If experts cannot justify
expenditure on their projects, they
not only suffer from communicative
deficiency but also from a lack of
ability to inspire confidence in their
visions of target setting.
Often has it been
stated that telling is not teaching.
It does not suffice to be imbued with
visions of improvement; the inherent
seminal components have to be sown
afresh in the minds of listeners and
of interlocutors. Perhaps the key
formula should read ‘audience
awareness’.
Sceptics will at
once protest that telepathy is not
a recognised academic discipline.
To test the validity of their objection,
a full definition is required of ‘audience
awareness’ in higher education.”

Joint Award Programme
A
Strategic Alliance with the Ansted University
Joint Award Programme
The Ansted University Joint
Award Programme is part of our programme
which invite various institutions, training
providers, professional and non-professional
institutions/associations, seminar and event
organizers, companies, training, research
departments etc in various parts of the
world to work together for developing the
short term programmes. The Joint Award Programme
is given to the adult learners the opportunity
to earn University credit through various
ways of learning by Correspondence Courses,
Independent Study, Group Study, Internships,
Tutorials, Seminars, Audio/Videotapes, online
courses, and Computer Networking.
The Joint Award Programme
allows a practical, convenient method of
accomplishing these objectives…
- To award academic credits points to
the participants whom they have had attended
the full session of the seminar, workshop,
internal and external companies training
programmes.
- To recognize and motivate the adult
learners to continue learning, we call
it “lifelong learning”.
- The credit points earned from Ansted
University can help adult learners soften
the studying period if they choose to
pursue their tertiary degree programme
with us or with other universities arising
from the accumulation of credit points
earned throughout their working and personal
life experiences.
There are several forms
of documentation that may be included in
a life experience portfolio. Letters of
Verification are the most common. Other
forms include resumes, licenses (pilot,
real estate, day care, etc.), reports, newspaper
articles, commendations, awards and citations,
certificates and diplomas, military records,
copies of examinations taken, course outlines
or syllabi, films or taped presentations,
job descriptions, product samples, works
of art, designs and blueprints, exhibitions,
written or edited manuscripts, photographs,
copies of speeches, programs of performances,
recitals, bills of sale, etc. Evaluation
of a life experience portfolio is conducted
by appropriate faculty evaluators. Appropriate
credit is granted by the faculty on the
basis of how the student describes and documents
the learning acquired as a result of each
learning experience. A single certificate
of completion or attendance with the two
institutions logos and authorized personnel
signatures will be issued for those successfully
completed the course.
